Luminor Due

Panerai Luminor Due Watches

Panerai is firmly rooted back into the year 1860. The most interesting thing about Panerai is that it was a combination of a watchmaking shop and a school to teach others watchmaking in Florence. Smart ways of letting people know that watchmaking is an art which must be spread through the rest of the world. However, later, the Panerai shop moved to a new location wherein it is situated still – the Palazzo Arcivescovile. Since we have come to know about how the brand came to be established, let's have a look into how did it bring about watches in the picture – especially the Luminor – which were so beautifully crafted that they had to fall into the luxury category.

A brand new addition to the world of Panerai, the Luminor Due! This unique brand has rendered the watch world in awe with the contemporary reinterpretation of a similar watch which was introduced in this brand line back in the year 1950. No doubt, this watch is nothing less than a wonderment.

History of Panerai Luminor Due Watches

It was known that the Officine Panerai was closely associated to the Royal Italian Navy for a really long period of time and was supplying them with units which were high in precision since quite a few years. To bring about their creativity to the foreground, in 1916 they created Panerai Radiomir – a powder which was based on radium and was meant to confer luminosity to the dials so that they can be sighted easily. With Panerai Radiomir being founded as a powder by Panerai, it was bound that they will bring about watches in the same line and that is exactly what happened.

Since luminosity has come to be mentioned, you might have understood that it must be linked to the Luminor watch and, well, you are right. To our surprise and everyone else’s Luminor is a substance which shines bright like a diamond on its own and was introduced by none other than Panerai in the year 1949. The introduction of this new substance led to the advent of a new watch line named Luminor and it completely took over Radiomir’s existence – well – for good reason – the material was extremely radioactive and was capable of causing damage to the person who would wear the watch.

When the second world war had broken out, the company had begun research which would help it develop the Luminor watchline completely. This watch then came to existence with a characteristic which made it stand out from the rest of the watches – it was equipped with a crown protecting bridge which kept people from the unwilling fidgeting of the time being displayed on the watch. Along with this, the watch had a cushion shaped case which was similar to a variation of the Radiomir watch. The Panerai watch brand had seen a revolution with the debut of this watch in the year 1950.

Yes, Luminor was one of the most widely acclaimed timepieces in the history of the watch industry because of how it could become a companion in all the diving endeavours of the people. But it was only limited to diving because it had the looks of the sort. Thus, Panerai decided to bring about a change in this scenario and make this watch capable of being donned in occasions which welcomed formal or casual dressing.

Thus, to bring about a reinterpretation to a chapter which was now a thing of the past – Panerai came with the most ecstatic collection that was Panerai Luminor Due which came up with the thinnest automatic calibres developed. Ah, what a treat to the eyes. The Panerai watch, of course, preserves the styling which has been used in the past but it does bring about some spectacular changes and the one that is visible outright is that the Panerai watch has gotten similar by leaps and bounds.

The Panerai watch looks all the more elegant because of the sloping touch of the bezel. Wait, the Panerai watch gets all the perkier when you observed that to display the seconds' section of the watch – a small yet noticeable subdial has been placed in the 9 o clock position, a conventional appearance on all the other Panerai watches.

Also, it is worth mentioning that despite the fact that Panerai has been known for manufacturing luxury watches that were huge in size – owing to their military heritage – they brought about the Panerai Luminor Due which is considered to be amongst the smallest watches that they have manufactured. Thus and most importantly, the Panerai Due has been both watches for men and women alike.

Panerai Luminor Due, or Panerai Luminor Due 3 days, is a watch which has a rich culture and despite being launched in the year 2016, it still lives on as a watch people wish to buy without any doubt.
