History of Rolex Cellini Watches

Rolex is just a versatile watchmaker with its luxury watch collection. The brand is something which does not limit itself with just one option in its variety, thus it is that one stop which offers everything. One such popular model by Rolex is its Cellini. The Rolex Cellini is a grandeur in majesty.

The Rolex Cellini has an interesting history when it comes to its name. Now although the Cellini has never been the top seller in the Rolex line-up, but it has never failed to catch the admiration of those people who appreciate the subtle magnificence of a watch with the sober classicism of its refined and elegant lines. The Rolex Cellini collection is far away from its usual sports collection. Coming back to the name of the model ‘Cellini', the Rolex has decided to name its luxurious collection after the popular Italian goldsmith and sculptor, Benvenuto Cellini as it is the ideal timepiece for those who have a true appreciation of true artistry.

The Rolex Cellini collection was the handiwork of Rene-Paul Jeanneret, who is the man who had helped steer Rolex towards making watches for professionals in the 1950s. The Cellini was introduced in the 1960s and they were modeled in a very stylish, yet timeless Art Deco look. The extravagant design of the watch is particularly enchanting, while its excellent precision stays true to the well-established Rolex standard. In an attempt to provide a classic alternative to the sporty Oyster collection, Rolex launched a number of Cellini models throughout the course of its corporate history. The Rolex Cellini Danaos, the Rolex Cellini Cestello, and the Rolex Cellini Quartz are no longer manufactured. They offer deep insight into the history of the legendary Rolex brand

The Vintage Cellini models:

The Prince – Released in 1928 the Rolex Prince was popularly known for its chronometric precision and beautiful avant-garde rectangular shape. This timeless piece remains the favorite of those desiring for classic features like manually wounded mechanical movement. This watch includes a transparent case back that showcases its chronometric performance. There are a number of stylistic alternatives for the ones who are seeking for something unique. The Prince is versatile enough to be worn in both dressy as well as in casual attire.

Cestello – This pleasant Rolex timepiece features a classic round dial, leather strap and has a beautiful sapphire crystal. It is the ideal watch for those looking for a mixture of handsome and elegant.

Danaos – The perfect choice for the luxury watch admirer who hankers for a cutting-edge and high-style design, while enjoying its old-world charm.

Though the following models became obsolete but the Cellini was revived by Rolex in 2014 again as the part of Rolex Cellini collection which were introduced in Baselworld 2014 and the Rolex Cellini Time was one of them, together with Cellini Date, and Cellini Dual Time. These watches are meant for Rolex fans who prefer themselves being dressed up gracefully. As the market for rectangular watches shrunk, in 2014 Rolex rolled in the round watches in their Cellini collection.

Of all the revived Cellini models Cellini Time was the simplest one and probably the most traditional and equitable. The Cellini Time is available in four different categories, including white or black lacquered dial, and 18k white gold or Everose gold in a 39mm case. They are Fitted with alligator leather strap providing a choice between two colors, black and brown strap.

Now let’s take a look at a few of the features of this timeless piece withholding the essence of the classic era.

The unbeatable appearance .....
Dress up in this Cellini Time for any occasion whether a cocktail party, festive eves, weddings or carry them with your suit, casuals or any attire, it styles up with everything and thus they are perfect for the occasion. This classic watch is near to the perfection. The Rolex Cellini is the simplest of all models from Cellini catalog. But the year 2016 demanded something more, it took a complete turn for this Cellini Time. The newer versions of Cellini Time made it a tougher competitor with the other ranges from Rolex family.

What made it stood apart, is its cleaner dial design combined with effective symmetry. The newer incarnation of Rolex Cellini Time features facet-cut baton-style hour markers all over with screw down type crown and narrow bezel with the fluted ring, a polished case back and a polished lustrous strap with fattened projected buckles. The 39 mm dial, sword-shaped hands, and Roman numerals at 12,3,6 and 9 o'clock give it a perfect resemblance of the 50's era.

The unstoppable movement.....
The Rolex Cellini Time is powered by an in-house mechanism by Rolex. These automatic movements operate at 4Hz (28,800bph) with about 48 hours of power retention. Like all other present Rolex watches, the Cellini watch models have been abided by the high precision "Superlative Chronometer" standards which are also known as "The Green Seal" certification. Basically, it means COSC Chronometer certification plus Rolex's own "Rolex Certification." The Rolex's standards have become more rigorous acquiring accuracy of -2/+2 seconds per day.

If you are an admirer of a dress watch and looking for something handsome which will match up with all your occasion, then Cellini Time is an ideal match in its varied available varieties.
