History of Nomos Glashütte Ludwig Watches

The origin of the watch company – Nomos Glashütte – can be traced back to 1906 when Guido Müller only focused on importing and selling the Swiss watches. This was done in order to capitalise on the notable reputation of Nomos watches.

It started its real journey in 1990 with Roland Schwertner. The brand was now registered under the name Nomos Glashütte and aimed its attention towards manufacturing simple and elegant timepieces. The company marked its landmark in the year 2005 by manufacturing its in-house movements. The early watches by the brand were powered by ETA SA/Peseux 7001, but after coming up with their own movements, it started creating its manual winding calibre. The very first calibre by the brand was named as Alpha and then followed Beta, Gamma and Delta.

This German-based company, since its foundation, has always focused on creating timepieces that are simple and elegant. With a unique and impressive history, the Nomos watches are equipped with the same attributes. What actually makes it exceptional are the factors that these Nomos watches have the quality of being fresh and displays an unconventional look as compared to the other watches from various brands. The Nomos watches simply reflects a casual restraint and has taken its inspiration from the Bauhaus purist design style. Since the time it has come up with its in-house movements, the brand has hardly been idle. Year after year it has launched various members to the brand's family. With a wide range to choose from, one of the most sought-after watches by the brand is its Nomos Ludwig. The Nomos Ludwig collection is regarded as one of the most classical watches. Although it looks a bit similar to its Tangente model, but what differentiates this timepiece is its stylish Roman numerals which actually makes it a bit softer and rounder as compared to the Tangente. It is the collection which offers an exceptional array of Nomos mens watches. The brand has successfully blended the combination of sharp and bold characters in order to meet the requirements of modern watchmaking techniques. The charm of this timepiece can be clearly seen through its classic design along with contemporary inclinations.

The Nomos Ludwig collection holds a lot of unique timepieces. For instance its Ref. 205 and Ref. 201 are the only watches in the entire selection of Nomos watch that displays the Roman numeral in its overall design. This is just a tiny detail but it gives prominence to its elegant and traditional spirit.

The bezel of the Nomos watch does an extraordinary work – it complements the extremely sleek configuration of this Nomos Ludwig watch. To top it up, the exquisite leather strap of the watch is enough to turn heads which are furthermore equipped with a high-quality buckle.

The Nomos watch is also equipped with a robust sapphire crystal which has been enclosed on the back of its case. Hence, with a transparent case back, one can see the mechanism of its intricate in-house calibre along with its self-winding calibre Epsilon which is presented in its automatic collection.

The timepiece has been made available in three variant sizes - 35 mm, 38 mm and 40 mm, hence the styling is not just limited to men but even the ladies can wear these unique timepieces. The structure of the watch is quite clear, it has got a straightforward design which in return acts as an innovative timepiece.
